In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, it is more important than ever for organisations to remain agile and adaptable. To address this need we have developed this practical two-day course for executives, managers and consultants.

The goal of the course is to give you the skills necessary to design, assess and maintain agile ecosystems at the enterprise-wide level to solve existing challenges by extending agility beyond team boundaries and established frameworks.

What you will learn during this two-day masterclass

Org Topologies™ will enable you to own and master your path toward higher states of adaptability, starting from wherever you are now. Your organization will be more customer-focused, enabling you to stay relevant for your customers and stakeholders in the long run.

The course explores the concept of Business Agility, which brings up organisational capabilities, behaviors and methodologies that enable companies to achieve their goals with freedom, flexibility and resilience. By embracing Business Agility, organisations can not only compete, but thrive in the digital age by seizing market shifts and new opportunities.

Before making changes, a solid understanding of the existing system is necessary. Taught by the creators of Org Topologies™ in an innovative format called “Org Design Studio” that allows participants to sketch, prototype, iterate, evaluate, and improve different org design options with ease.

Understanding the Current Landscape

This section covers the challenges facing the industry today, such as the claims that "agile is dead," the widespread use of scaling frameworks, the emergence of do-it-yourself (DIY) methods, and the common pitfalls of unsuccessful transformations. It sets the stage for why change is needed and what we're up against.

Organizational Design and Dynamics

Here, we introduce the core principles of OrgTopologies™, focusing on the two main drivers that shape organizational development. We'll explore sixteen organizational archetypes for product development and three ecosystems that capture the typical dynamics in digital product development. The discussion will also touch on organizational inertia and the shifts in thinking required to foster genuine change.

Gap Analysis and Strategic Alignment

This part delves into identifying and understanding the capability and product gaps within organizations, emphasizing the difference between products focused on internal efficiencies and those delivering broader customer value. Through exercises, participants will learn to assess how well their organization's strategy, capabilities, and design align. They'll also evaluate popular scaling frameworks and methods (like SAFe, unFix, Team Topologies, FaST, LeSS) to understand their nuances, limitations, and best use cases.

Pathways to Transformation

The final section shares insights from a deep dive into organizational change towards more mature archetypes and personal transformation stories from those who've been through it—product managers, engineering managers, and team members. We'll introduce Elevating Structures™ as a way to guide your organization towards these advanced archetypes. In the concluding exercises, participants will have the opportunity to identify and present actionable steps for enhancing their organization, armed with insights from the Org Topologies™ framework.
