What will I learn?
The Essentials is a collection of solid coaching techniques and essential life wisdom that together create an unforgettable experience. It is the ultimate practical training for natural coaching skills and transformative mindsets. It is also the first part of our ICF-accredited Level 2 Integral Coaching program (Essentials + Professional).
This training quickly gets you started with practical coaching applications. You will learn the standard techniques but with a unique twist—we provide you with their essence, including lesser-known nuances that allow you to guide people naturally and effectively. Whether you are a coach, leader, colleague, family member, or partner, this course will help you enhance your coaching abilities.
What is the training format?
Day 1 – What is (Integral) Coaching... for you?
"Champions are brilliant at the basics." – John Wooden
On Day 1, we lay the foundation for your coaching skills. You will experience firsthand the challenge of understanding someone else's Model of the World and learn how to truly see the other person. We introduce the fundamental models of Integral Coaching:
- The 7C Model for structuring a coaching conversation
- The No Comment principle
- Regular vs. coaching questions
- Conversational techniques and intuitive, body-based formats around the Model of the World
- Managing conversation dynamics: the 50% rule and the 5-second rule
- Key coaching competencies: Listening – Questioning – Reframing – Language use
Day 2 – Division of Responsibility
"Every right implies a responsibility;
Every opportunity, an obligation;
Every possession, a duty." – John D. Rockefeller
Most coaching questions revolve around responsibility. Clients want change but take no initiative; their environment fails them; expectations are unmet. Responsibility also plays a role in the coach-client dynamic—who is responsible for solutions, insights, and actions? It's not as simple as it seems!
On this day, you will learn how to sense the correct balance of responsibility in different areas. You will also recognize and address common patterns of irresponsibility.
- Where do you take too much or too little responsibility?
- Ways to empower the client to take responsibility
- Preventing misunderstandings and energy drain for both coach and client
- Managing judgment and projection as a coach
- Learning to use silence with intention
- The difference between coaching – therapy – psychiatry
Day 3 – Awareness of the Impact of Your Presence
"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." – Winston Churchill
Your attitude as a coach influences your interactions, whether you realize it or not. Even when you try to be neutral, your presence has an impact. This can be a pitfall or a powerful tool. On this day, we explore how you can play with your attitude to create more effective interactions.
- Setting up the coaching space
- What the first handshake reveals about your client
- Your unconscious default settings
- Interacting consciously from different power dynamics (superior – inferior – equal)
- Using verbal, non-verbal, and energetic positioning
- The power of scaling questions
- Managing stimulation levels in conversations
Day 4 – Working with Goals
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." – C. S. Lewis
Goals are the cornerstone of coaching. They set the stage for the coaching process, measure the client's progress, and determine your effectiveness as a coach. It is crucial to approach them correctly!
- Techniques to question, clarify, and refine goals
- PRISMAT: zooming in on goals
- Finding the Inner GPS: zooming out to the bigger picture and life path
- Techniques to maximize action and commitment
- Sharpening and restructuring priorities
Day 5 – Everything is in Balance
"Everything that irritates us about others
can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." – Carl Jung
Coaching is not just about moving forward—it is also about balancing different forces. Where there is motivation, there are also blockages. Where there is a desire to move forward, there are also counterforces.
- Understanding the balance in every situation
- Seeing the benefit in disadvantages
- The double goal bookkeeping method
- Ofman's Core Quadrants model
- Identifying hidden balances
- Physical and creative formats for working with polarities
Day 6 – Closing a Coaching Conversation
"Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing
that we see too late the one that is open." – Alexander Graham Bell
To move forward, we must let go of the old. A strong closure is essential for both individual coaching sessions and entire coaching trajectories.
- Bringing a coaching conversation or trajectory to a strong conclusion
- Helping clients close unfinished business
- Releasing yourself as a coach
- What makes a coaching conversation empowering?
- Assigning meaningful homework to clients
- Creating a Personal Development Plan (POP)
WHO IS IT FOR?
More Than Just a Training—A Gift to Yourself
"You can only take a client as far as you have gone yourself."
Beyond learning coaching techniques, we encourage you to go through your own process.
Through short yet powerful self-awareness exercises, you will gain insight into:
- How you interact with others
- Your strengths and areas for growth
- Your coaching identity as a professional, individual, or entrepreneur
You will experience the Integral Coaching Method firsthand, with ample time for practical application and self-exploration.
For independent coaches: Essential tools for building your coaching practice

For personal development: A deep dive into self-awareness and growth
- Start coaching from Day 1—the Essentials material is applicable in any setting.
